Located at the gateway to the historic Northside neighborhood in Chapel Hill, the Jackson Center is the first public history center of its kind in North Carolina. It is dedicated to honoring everyday history-makers by engaging intergenerational dialogue, sponsoring youth initiatives, and pursuing creative community development. The Center’s mission is to connect saving the past with making the future of our communities by preserving our legacies in word, song, and image; making those legacies widely available; and following the example of creative service and leadership that they embody.
